The Pilot Project
Covadonga Urban Lab, a new space for collective creation and innovation in Sabadell
Within the framework of the UCITYLAB project, funded by the ERASMUS + program of the European Union, the Autonomous University of Barcelona is developing te Covadonga Urban Lab pilot project. With this proposal where the university is linked, from its broadest meaning, with the city and the territory, it wants to build a new space for experimentation, co-creation and collective innovation.
As an urban laboratory, it is an open space for citizens and different urban and social agents who want to collectively imagine, create, test and implement solutions to the main social, urban and environmental challenges facing the Covadonga district and the city of Sabadell in general.
Throughout the year 2020, the implementation of the Covadonga Urban Lab pilot project will be carried out through different activities and events, opening the possibility for all those interested to participate.

The project in numbers
The local network
The pilot project is developed in relation to two working groups: the Local Interest Group, which provides the challenges and the local knowledge and and the Academic Group, which brings the expertise and creativity to respond to these challenges.
The Acadèmic Group
During the Pilot four higher education institutions with different expertises will participate in a transdisciplinary and collaborative space.
Together with the Local Interest Group, they will work jointly to come up with possible responses to the social and urban challenges of the city and neighborhood.
